About the Institute

The Hydraulic Machinery Research Institute (HMRI) was established in 2005 with the cooperation of the College of Engineering of the University of Tehran and the Ministry of Energy. The Institute is located in the Amirabad Campus of the College of Engineering and has a well-equipped computer center and state of the art laboratory facilities for testing pumps and hydraulic turbines. The Institute’s activities are in the three fields of education, research and technology transference. In collaboration with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the Institute accepts M.Sc. and Ph.D. students in Hydraulic Turbo Machinery. Currently, Professor Seyed Ahmad Nourbakhsh serves as the head of the Institute.
