Elham Aminzadeh is an Iranian academic, lawmaker and the former assistant to President, Hassan Rouhani in citizenship rights. She was formerly Vice President in legal affairs.

 

Early life and education
Elham Aminzadeh was born in 1964. She holds a PhD in law from the University of Glasgow in 1997.The title of her PhD thesis is "the United Nations and international peace and security: a legal and practical analysis".

She known as a professor of law with the speciality of international public law, energy law and human rights at the University of Tehran. She served at the seventh term of the Majlis as a lawmaker from 2004 to 2008. She was the Deputy Head of the Majlis's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee.

 

Introduction and history

The history of international activities of University of Tehran, as a symbol of higher education in the country and the mother university, dates back to the establishment of the University's Office of International Relations. The activities of the Office have been started a few years after the establishment of University of Tehran in its modern form in 1934. Initially, the activities of this office were carried out within the scope of the Vice President for Research and then continued independently within the scope of the Presidency of University of Tehran.

In order to expand international scientific cooperation and enhance the global status of University of Tehran, the Vice President for International Affairs was established in February 2008, and the two general offices titled “General Office for International Relations” and “General Office for International Students and Staff” have been formed under the Vice President for International Affairs. On a micro-scale, international affairs at the campuses, faculties, schools, and affiliated institutions are pursued by the international advisors who act as the advisory and operational arm of this Vice-President.
