Student Union

Cultural, artistic, religious and social centers provide an opportunity to develop students’ cultural, artistic and creative abilities, enhance the spirit of collaboration among students, increase students' historical and cultural knowledge, and provide a forum for enjoyable and social leisure activities.

These centers include: Qur'an and Household of the Prophet; Iran Tourism; Thought of Safir; Performing Arts; Literature; Red Crescent; Film and Photography; Charity of Imam Ali; Visual Arts and many more.

 

UT’s student associations, which are based on voluntary participation, provide a forum for the realization of students' talents, creativity and academic excellence, identify and support innovative students and researchers, and enhance students’ ability to pursue academic research activities.

There are current 171 student academic associations, which in 2018 alone, held more than 400 programs and events including seminars, meetings, excursions, workshops, festivals, exhibitions and conferences.

 

The University of Tehran Student Union aims to foster Islamic values and beliefs amongst professors, students and staff, prepare students to be positive, responsible and rational members of society, and promote national identity and unity to facilitate the country's continued development.

The Student Union is equipped with up-to-date facilities, including halls, galleries, databases and IT/AV facilities, enabling it to host student cultural and social activities and support student organizations.

School of the Qur’an and Household of the Prophet

The University Publisher serves as a forum for the expression of students' views, as well for the articulation of issues of importance to the university and wider community. Its main missions are to promote rationality and problem-solving as well as facilitate collective reasoning.

The University of Tehran Publishing House is a student body that promotes student publications, provides a forum for the exchange of resources and ideas, and showcases students’ talents across all academic disciplines.

 

 

The University of Tehran Educational and Cultural Development Center is one of the subsidiaries of the Tehran University's Department of Cultural and Social Affairs, which aims to provide cultural, artistic, and social education to students, staff, and professors. Family members of UT students and staff as well as educated citizens can also benefit from the center's courses, and students who complete all necessary units are awarded a certificate of completion.

 

Muslims believe that the Qur’an and Household of the Prophet are two precious gems that Prophet Mohammad left to the community and which will never be separated until they rejoin the Prophet in heaven.

The Qur’an and Household of the Prophet School has been active since 1999 in the areas of teaching, conducting research, holding conferences and producing publications in relation to the Qur’an, and has plans to complete the development of 12 specialized centers.

Family members of UT students and staff as well as educated citizens can also benefit from the center's courses, and students who complete all necessary units are awarded a certificate of completion.

 

The Moulavi Theatre Complex, located close to UT’s main campus, is Iran's only academic theater. It has accommodated performances by theater students and graduates over more than four decades of continuous activity.

The main auditorium, which seats 170 people, is one of the best Black Box venues in Iran. The smaller theatre, which seats 60 people, is an ideal space for experiencing student productions.

 

The Audio-Visual Media Center is equipped with imaging, photography and audiovisual facilities as well as sound and visual studio services, thus facilitating the production of many cultural and artistic products.
