About the Institute

Studying history of science during Islamic era has a fundamental role in creating and reinforcing national and spiritual identity. The Institute for the History of Science was established in 1997 to perform duties such as:

1. Fundamental research projects in the field of History of Science, including pure sciences
2. Post graduate courses in History of Sciences at the M.Sc. and Ph.D. levels
3. Creation of coordinated and effective relation with Iranian and foreign experts and researchers
4. Raising public awareness through establishing a specialized library and data bank, and hosting public lectures in the field of History of Science

The Institute also offers a Master of Arts in the following disciplines:

• Mathematics in Islamic era
• Astronomy in Islamic era
• Physics and technology in Islamic era
