About the Center

The Center for International Religious Studies was officially accredited and established in the Faculty of World Studies of the University of Tehran in 2008. Considering the universal changes and the increasing role of religions in different cultural and social areas, conducting researches that revolve around religion - from the angle of global and humanitarian aspects and with an interdisciplinary direction - have become increasingly significant. Therefore, the objective of this Center is to carry out researches regarding religions, Islam in particular, focusing on global issues and major socio-cultural and political matters of the world. Currently, Professor Mohammad R. Rezvantalab serves as the Director of the Center.
