About the Center

Biomaterials Research Center (BRC) was officially founded as an interdisciplinary research center by the efforts of late Professor M.N. Sarbolouki in 2005 at the University of Tehran. The Center aims to provide a suitable platform for inventions and production of biomaterials in basic, medical, pharmaceutical, environmental and agricultural fields. Furthermore, BRC aims to address national and worldwide biomaterial related problems and the way they should be treated mainly at the molecular level.

The center has formed the pyramid of biomaterials in Iran and has established the global network by organizing different gatherings such as the 1st International Conference on Biomaterials (2007); 3rd Workshop on Biomaterials (2010); National Symposium on Biomaterials (2010); and Biomaterials Summer School (Summer 2011). Furthermore, BRC has various publications including “Introduction to Biomaterials”. Currently, Professor Hamid Mobasheri serves as the head of BRC.
