Dr. Mary Yoshinari, SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellow at University of Tehran visits Ferdowsi University of Mashhad

On Tuesday, May 28, 2019, Dr. Mary Yoshinari presented a paper entitled, “Khorasan, the Soviets, and Iran’s National Economy, 1921-1946,” at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM). Organized by Dr. Javad Abbasi, Vice Dean for Research and Technology and Associate Professor of FUM’s Department of History, Dr. Yoshinari’s visit was an excellent opportunity to disseminate her research findings, as well as establishing contact and exchanging information with local scholars in her field. She also toured Ferdowsi University’s International Center for Teaching Persian to Foreign Students, Libraries, and Museum, and met with professors and administrators in the Dr. Ali Shariati Faculty of Letters and Humanities. All of these activities will promote closer ties between Iranian and Canadian universities.
