International Conference on Changes of Criminal Laws in Islamic Countries in the Light of Interaction of Sharia and Laws
On 5-6 March, 2019, International Conference on Changes of Criminal Laws in Islamic Countries in the light of Interaction of Sharia and Laws was held at Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, UT. In this conference 57 papers were presented by researchers from Iran, US, Germany, Turkey, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Indonesia and Nigeria.
Referring to the historical course of developing criminal laws in Iran and some of the Islamic countries, researchers dealt with the link between Sharia and secular criminal laws and models of interaction between them. Taking into consideration the judicial procedures and rules, the most important issues related to the application of each of the models and approaches to move out of them were discussed. Focusing on the cultural and social interaction in countries with the majority of Muslims was noticed by presenters. The dominating attitude of most of the presentation was on solving the conflicts between the necessities of the modern state and preoccupations resulting from Sharia. The Proceedings of the conference in Persian and Language were also presented to the participants of the event.
