Saadi’s Bustan published in Italian

Note: So many foreign scholars have translated or conducted research on Saadi's works, the classic poet of Iran in different countries.  Moreover, a great number of universities dissertations and theses have also been focused on Saadi or the impact of Saadi on other poets and philosophers. For instance, in 1998, Ms. Chrisina Grigio, an Italian scholar and graduate of Master’s program on Oriental Studies allocated her thesis on the impact of Saadi on Emerson, the American poet , a report of which was published in Keyhan-e Farhangi, No. 146, Mehr, 1377(1998).

Saadi is well known for his aphorisms, the most famous of which, Bani Adam, is part of the Gulistan. In a delicate way it calls for breaking down all barriers between human beings:

The literal translation of the above is as follows:

"The children of Adam are the members of one another,
and are from the same essence in their creation.
When the conditions of the time hurt one of these members,
other members will suffer from discomfort.
If you are indifferent to the misery of others,
it is not fitting that they should call you a human being."

Italian Professor translates Saadi's Bustan

Carlo Saccone, an Italian professor of the Persian language at the University of Bologna, is the translator of the book entitled “Il Verziere”.

Sheikh Muslih od-Din Sadi Shirazi (C. 1213-1291) is one of the greatest figures of classical Persian literature famous worldwide for his Gulistan (The Rose Garden) and Bustan.
