Two Scholars from Uzbekistan visiting UT

Director General, Office of International Relations, University of Tehran had a meeting with two scholars from Uzbekistan, namely Mirzajan Kalandarov, The  Head of Innovation Centre and Researcher of Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies (TSIOS) and Habivova Muhabbat, Senior Instructor at TSIOS.  

In this meeting both sides discussed on the potential of future relations between UT and the mentioned institution as a leading research and education center at the  region . The two sides also exchanged ideas on the possibility of cooperation within the programs such as Erasmus plus, KOICA and other programs as well.

In the course of the meeting M.Kalandarov stated, “Our institute has established cooperation with a lot of Universities in the world. Our Teaching Staff and Students have attended special courses in Saadi Foundation for many years. There are a lot of disciplines and specialties not only in the area of philology, but also in economy, politics, history, philosophy of the Eastern countries, including Islamic Republic of Iran”.

He further added, “Nowadays more than 250 students are learning Persian in different areas in the Institute. We are aware that University of Tehran has a  very good academic standing in abovementioned areas, and the  Republic of Uzbekistan and IRI, as two countries with common philosophy, history, literature share the historical figures such as Kwarezmi, Abu Rayhan Beruni, Farabi, Termizi, Nasafi, Bukhari, Zamakhshari, Rumi, Attar, Jami, Navai and have well known cultural sites like Samarkand, Bukhara, Chach, Nasaf (Nakhshab), Termiz, Jayhun, Sayhun, Khurasan, Jurjan, Tabriz, Tus, Mashhad with Islamic architecture. They have mutual areas of interests from different aspects in the issues connected to Afghanistan, Central Asia, etc.

Given these sharing culture, we should have integrated scientific researches to find solutions in the way of inspiration to bright and secure future in the region, student and teaching staff exchange programs”

Mrs. Habibova gave more information about her affiliated Institute such as the activities of 5 Faculties and Departments, Schools and specialties of bachelor’s and master’s programs, foreign students, and intnernational trainees and researchers. In addition she stated that the departments have open libraries, which provid the clients with foreign literature. The book  sources and educaiotnal facilties are supplied not only by the Republic of Uzbakistan but also by countries, like Iran, Japan, Pakistan, India, Turkey, Indonesia, Egypt, Vietnam, Korea, China and others.

Abdolmajid Eskandari, Director General, Office of International Relations also   talked about the role of UT at the national and international level , science and teaching facilities and potential of the UT in cooperating with other foreign universities. He further added that cooperation in every sphere of education and research will be supported by UT”

It is worth noting that the guests from Uzbekistan have attended courses at the Faculty of Literature and Humanities for one month. Upon the completion of the course, they will share their experiences and courses with their colleagues in Uzbekistan.

There is a plan to sign a MoU which will serve a base for further cooperation between the two universities and the related institutions.
