Spanish Ambassador visits UT

Mr. MR.EDUARDO LÓPEZ BUSQUETS, Ambassador of Spain to Iran met Prof. Saeed Reza Ameli, Dean of the Faculty of World Studies, UT on 10 July, 2018.

This meeting which was held in the presence of Prof. Maryam Haghrossta, Head of Department of Latin American Studies, the ways to promote further cultural and academic ties with Spanish universities such as Barcelona, The University of Santiago de Compostela , Mardid, Valencia , and Seville were reviewed.

In the beginning of discussion, Prof. Ameli stated that the Iranian and Spanish students enjoy very good academic relations. At the continuation of discussion five pivots of cooperation was put forth which was agreed upon in principle between the two sides:

Establishment of Master’s degree program in Spanish studies, establishment of the field of world studies at Bachelor’s degree program in form of dual or joint degrees with one of the Spanish universities, exchange of students , in particular on Iranian studies , holding conference and cultural week of Spain in UT and enriching the digital library of the faculty with Spanish books.

According to Prof. Ameli, these proposed five pivots will help to fill the gap of information and boost further understanding between the UT and Spanish universities and the two nations as well.
