An international professor from Cologne University,Germany visits University of Tehran

Prof. Dr. Aria Adli, faculty member of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Cologne, Germany visits University of Tehran. The purpose of his visit is to do a research for two and a half months on contemporary issues of Persian linguistics. During his research stay, starting from April, 2018, he will conduct in particular a research on “Word Order and information structure in colloquial Persian from Tehran variety”. It is worth noting that he has gathered spoken data of more than one hundred persons through his research and is currently building a new corpus of spoken Persian which can be useful for the future researches.    

As a professor of linguistics, he has attended the University of Tehran based on the invitation of Prof. Karimi Doostan, from the Department of Linguistics at Faculty of Literature and Humanities, University of Tehran. Given the mutual MoU signed between University of Tehran and University of Cologne, Germany, this is his third academic visit to the University of Tehran.

According to his experience, the Ph.D. students at UT are enjoying a very high level of education and he always feels happy to work with them and faculty members as well.
