The Experience of an International Student at University of Tehran and Iran

University of Tehran annually hosts a number of international students through various programs including Erasmus Mundus . One of the Italian Ph.D. students who has recently returned to Italy has shared his experience in Iran and University of Tehran with us through a letter which reads as follows:
My name is Paolo Zampella, I am an Italian PhD candidate in maritime and aviation law from the University of Cagliari, Italy. I was not new to mobility experiences, thanks to the different exchange programs in which I had participated during my past academic career. But the Erasmus Mundus Marhaba project in Iran was undoubtedly the most exiting! Maybe for my curiosity to discover this Country or for the originality of the destination, I was fascinated by the idea of spending six months of my PhD program at the University of Tehran.
At the end of these six months, I can state that my stay in Tehran proved to be a fantastic opportunity to open my horizons, from a professional, academic and human perspective, thanks to the help and great support of the wonderful team of the International Relations office and of my local supervisor, Dr. Morteza Adel, from the Faculty of Law and Political Science. But maybe what makes an experience in Iran such a great adventure is the Iranian people and the beauty of this Country, which I had the chance to admire during my many memorable journeys around it.
