Director of International Affairs, University of Cologne, Germany visited UT
On the 5th of March, 2018, Dr. Stefan Bildhauer, Director of International Affairs at University of Cologne, Germany visited UT and met Abdolmajid Eskandari, Director General, Office of International Relations.
In this meeting, Dr Bidhauer exchanged ideas on mutual cooperation between the two universities and explained about the upcoming visit of a delegation from University of Cologne including faculty members and students and in response Eskandari voiced the readiness of UT to collaborate with the delegation and their visiting program.
Eskandari explained further about the strategic objective of internationalization at UT as a way to increase the quality of the programs. Welcoming the idea to increase cooperation, Dr. Bidhauer further stated, “Founded in 1388, the University of Cologne is the second oldest Germany University. In 2012, it won substantial funding in the German Excellence Initiative and is now one of the eleven German Excellence Universities. According to the Times Higher Education World University Ranking 2015/2016, it is among the top 160 universities in the world. It has currently about 50000 students enrolled in the 260+ degree programs of six faculties: The number of International degree students is 5001 and the total budget is: 740m Euros p.a.”
It is worth mentioning that University of Tehran and University of Cologne have signed a Memorandum of Understanding which is still valid and serve as a platform for the academic cooperation between the two universities.
