According to the UT’s vision and the general policies of resistive economy, the most important and pivotal missions of UT are as follows:

  • Developing the scope of all sciences including human sciences, engineering, agriculture, and art
  • Generating scientific theories and fulfilling the intellectual and scientific needs of the Islamic Society
  • Presenting equal opportunity for flourishing and developing the scientific and technical talents of the country
  • All-round collaboration with other universities both nationally and internationally
  • Developing intellectuals, researchers, and experts across various scientific, technical, economic, and social arenas
  • Creating a suitable freethinking and scientific  atmosphere open to criticism based on Islamic principles
  • Conducting fundamental research, providing the scientific and applied needs of the society across all levels
  • Interacting with the executive body of the country
  • Supporting knowledge-based businesses
  • Protecting the environment
  • Saving in energy consumption

Goal 1: Internationalizing the university: global presence

The main strategies

  • Education: developing international academic collaborations
  • Research: developing research activities at a global level
  • Services: optimizing the infrastructures and processes of internationalization

Goal 1: Strategy A - Education: developing international academic collaborations

Strategic measures:

  1. Developing international experiences and absorbing foreign professors, researchers, and students
  2. Enhancing the academic quality at a global level
  3. Academic strategic collaboration with credible scientific international institutes

Goal 1: Strategy B- Research: developing research activities at a global class

Strategic measures:

  1. Supporting international research activities
  2. Developing international research interactions
  3. Promoting the activity of the research institutes of the university with an international mission

Goal 1: Strategy C- Services: optimizing the international infrastructures and processes

Strategic measures:

  1. Establishing the mechanism required for monitoring and promoting the university’s ranking in credible ranking and accreditation international systems
  2. Developing academic infrastructures at an international class emphasizing application of novel methods and technologies
  3. Developing the infrastructures as well as administrative, academic, and cultural systems according to international standards

Goal 2: Innovation and moving towards an entrepreneur university

The main strategies

  • Promoting research achievements, technology, and commercializing it
  • Developing human capital focusing on innovation, ideas, and entrepreneurship
  • Promoting the managerial system and diversifying the income sources of the university

Goal 2: Strategy A - Promoting research achievements, technology, and commercializing it

Strategic measures:

  1. Qualitative development and promotion of fundamental research
  2. Development of demand-oriented applied research
  3. Promotion of the infrastructures required for creating idea-to-product chain

Goal 2: Strategy B - Developing human capital focusing on innovation, ideas, and entrepreneurship

Strategic measures:

  1. Qualitative promotion and innovation in education emphasizing creativity, critical thinking, and applied as well as professional skills
  2. Deepening the bond between academic and research activities of the university with the social, economic, and cultural needs and conditions of the society
  3. Developing the bond with graduates for empowering and benefiting from their capacity.

 

Goal 2: Strategy C - Promotion of the infrastructures required for creating idea-to-product chain

Strategic measures:

  1. Correcting, renovating, and transforming the organizational structure and processes
  2. Establishing performance evaluation system to improve supervision and enhance productivity
  3. Developing the bond with graduates for empowering and benefiting from their capacity.

Goal 3) Promoting morality and social responsibility

The main strategies:

  1. Strengthening professional ethics
  2. Preserving the environment, movement towards a green university
  3. Developing a supportive and responsible environment in the university

Goal 3: Strategy A - Strengthening professional ethics

Strategic measures:

  1. Establishing professional ethics system in the university
  2. Supporting development of research, academic, and promotional activities for professional ethics in the university
  3. Developing the necessary mechanisms for promoting responsibility among university members (guaranteeing the originality of works, observing  intellectual property, etc.

Goal 3: Strategy B - Preserving the environment, moving towards a green university

Strategic measures:

  1. Establishing the mechanisms required for realizing green university and promoting the extent of endeavor of university members to follow environmental standards in the university atmosphere
  2. Supporting development of academic and promotional activities focusing on the environment
  3. Supporting development of research, technology, and environment-oriented businesses 
  4. Entering the internal ranking of green universities

Goal 3: Strategy C - Developing a supportive and responsible environment in the university

  1. Helping with the promotion of health and quality of life of university members
  2. Developing sports facilities and activities in the university
  3. Establishing  an environmental health and safety system(HSE)  in the university
  4. Promoting the training and supportive role of faculty members and employees in developing a supportive and responsible atmosphere
  5. Promoting voluntary activities of university members and students institutions
  6. Paying attention to the expectations of the key internal and external beneficiaries of the university
