President of University of Tehran, a key note speaker at International Conference of Asian Cultural Dialogues

On 13 January, 2018, President Nili Ahmadabadi attended the International Conference of Asian Cultural Dialogues and presented a speech addressed to local and foreign guests.

The main focus of his speech was on elites, challenges and the role of elites in solving the challenges. Prof. Nili Ahmadabadi started his speech on the position of the elites in decision making and scientific consultation. He further added that there is a delicate border among the national, regional and world challenges and the cyber space and globalization has made a local-regional problem to be converted into a world problem.

Some of the main challenges of the world include: climate change , environment, water , terrorist attacks, radicalism , social unrest and as likes. These challenges are deep and demand innovative and knowledge-based solutions. All decisions should be taken through scientific consultation. The elites also should accept their responsibilities and consider that they have social responsibility in addition to seeking knowledge.

Dialogue and understanding will not be possible without having an international attitude and contribution. We should focus on student and professor mobility and research works. One of the faculties which are active on Asian dialogues is the Faculty of World Studies at University of Tehran whose activities are inter-disciplinary. The programs there are offered in the concerned languages and we should use the capacity of language more effectively. The conference was held at the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO).
