University of Tehran Honorary Degree was awarded to Nelson Mandela

On July 22, 1992, Nelson Mandela as the Leader of African National Congress was awarded the University of Tehran Honorary Doctorate Degree in the field of Political Science. The related ceremony was held in the presence of the then Minister of Science, Research and Technology, President of UT, and a great number of faculty members and students. Mandela attended the ceremony in person and presented a speech which was received warmly.
