University of Tehran Vice President for International Affairs Visits Cuba
Prof. Mohammad Bagher Ghahramani, Vice President for International Affairs, University of Tehran visited Havana, Cuba on 13-15 February, 2017. This visit was made within the framework of the trip of a high ranking delegation from I.R. of Iran led by Minister of Health and Medical Education to attend the Iran-
Cuba Economic Joint Commission.
In this visit, Prof. Ghahramani met with Dr. Mayda Goite Piecree, Vice Rector for International Relations at University of Havana and exchanged ideas on mutual academic cooperation. Prof. Ghahramani also signed a new MoU with University of Havana on behalf of President of University o Tehran and during the meeting, the officials of University of Havana were invited to pay a visit to University of Tehran.
It is worth noting that University of Tehran and University of Havana has a long record of academic cooperation and exchange of faculty and students in particular through the Faculty of World Studies ( Department of Latin American Studies) and Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literature ( Department of Spanish Language).
The University of Havana or UH (in Spanish, Universidad de La Habana) is a university which was founded on January 5, 1728 and it is the oldest university in Cuba.
