Iran-Turkmenistan relations with an emphasize on academic and cultural ties was reviewed at a meeting in the Faculty of Law and Political Science

The meeting was held in the presence of high ranking diplomats from Turkmenistan, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Iran and a number of faculty members and students.Prof. Elaheh Koolaea, Head of Research Department of Central Eurasian Studies in this meeting stated, “Thousands of political experts and lawyers have been graduated from Faculty of Law and Political Sciences . We are interested in developing ties with the countries in the region and one of the regions which we train expert is the domain of Central Asia and Caucasia”.  Emphasizing on this point that so far the existing capacity for the development of relations between the two countries has not been used , she further added,” A part of this duty should be undertaken by academicians to introduce these potentials and use it”.

Safar Bardi Niyazov , the Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan also expressed some  materials about the foreign policy of Turkmenistan and its ruling impartiality principle. He added that Turkmenistan has one of the richest gas deposits in the world and informed about a seminar on transportation in Ashghabat.  He stated that the position of Turkmenistan in fighting against radicalism and drugs is very important and it has a strategic position from the viewpoint of energy as like as Iran.

Ahmad Ghorbanov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan said,” A review of the last 25 years shows that we can take great jobs in economic and cultural fields. There is a high capacity for cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries”.In this meeting, referring the changes after independence in Turkminstan,  Morad Nazarov, former ambassador of Turkmenistan to Iran  discussed about the significance of development of bilateral ties between the two countries.
