A high ranking delegation from University of Putra Malaysia (UPM) met with President of University of Tehran
On the 5th of November, 2016, the Malaysian 13 member-delegations led by Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Aini Ideris, the Vice Chancellor of UPM met with Prof. Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi, the President of University of Tehran. The meeting was held in the presence of President of Kish Int. Campus, Vice President for Int. Affairs, Dean of Faculty of World Studies, Dean of College of Fine Arts, Dean of Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Director General, Office of International Relations.
Referring to the long established ties between the two universities, both sides expressed their interest to promote academic and research collaboration. Taking into consideration the cultural relation as a fundamental component for all societies, the officials of the two universities also emphasized on the necessity of cultural exchanges. The other areas of discussion included dual degree programs, exchange of students and faculty members, information dissemination on international conferences, sabbatical leave, the joint research projects. At the end of meeting a mutual MoU (Letter of Intent) was signed between the two universities.
It is worth noting that in this meeting, Prof. Abbas Ghanbari Baghestan , the Scientific Attaché of Iran in the East Asia explained about the scope of his activities in Malaysia and submitted a proposal to UT president to consider membership at ASAIHL.
