Prof. Nili Ahmadabadi, the President of University of Tehran visited Leipzig University and Dresden University of Technology in Germany

On the 31st of May and 1st of June, 2016, President Nili Ahmadabadi paid a visit to two prestigious universities in Germany, i.e. Leipzig University and Dresden University of Technology respectively.

In meeting with Prof.Dr.Schuecking , the Rector of Leipzig University and her deputies , both sides exchanged ideas on various areas of cooperation including biology, biophysics, biochemistry, oriental studies, Islam  and medicine.  After the meeting with President Schuecking, the President of UT met with professors of the section , so called, Digital Humanities which is a section on comparative and interdisciplinary studies  on Islam studies , manuscript studies , and computer sciences which mainly comparing the historical texts. It was also decided that a faculty member of the mentioned university to visit UT in the near future to follow up the contents of agreed items.

On the 1st of June, 2016, Prof. Nili Ahmadabadi , the President of UT also met with Prof. Dr.  Hans Muller Steinhagen , the Rector of Dresden University of Technology (Technische Universitat Dresden) . President Nili Ahmadabadi also visited Leibnitz Institue for Solid State and Material Research .The areas of mutual interest in the visits and meetings were water, transportation, engineering, energy and material sciences. The two sides also agreed to expand their cooperation within the project of so called" Dresden Concept" which is an integration of research bodies and their laboratories in Germany in association with Dresden University of Technology. . Both sides expressed their interest to exchange 10 Ph.D. students on joint research programs annually. Lastly, both sides decided to establish more links between the Dresden International University and Kish International Campus of University of Tehran and the authorities of two institutions could meet further to have practical collaboration.  It is worth noting that in this meeting, a general MoU of academic and research cooperation was signed between President of University of Tehran and Rector of Dresden University of Technology.
