A delegation from The University of Melbourne, Australia met with President of University of Tehran
The delegation of the University of Melbourne met with the President of University of Tehran. During the meeting, The both sides explored the possible areas of scientific cooperation with University of Tehran including exchange of students and academic staff, establishment of dual degree postgraduate programs, joint PhD supervision, and joint research activities.
Explaining the university management programs of the University of Melbourne , Prof. Kvan , Pro Vice Chancellor (Global Development and Campus) talked about the various activities which have been done by his university in changing the structure of the programs and promoting the quality. He further added that having a balance between undergraduate and graduate students population, they have been able to enhance the strategic academic goals. Also, the emphasize of the University of Melbourne is on interdisciplinary programs and focusing on health and well-being , resilience and place and purpose. In the new programs, the students have more option to study in various fields related to their majors and also the faculty member will have more interaction with each other.
In this meeting, President Nili Ahamadabadi also expressed his hope for the establishment of further cooperation between the two universities in particular on dual degree programs as a suitable mechanism for stable cooperation.
