Chinese Language and Literature degree program officially opened at UT

Chinese Language and Literature degree program at undergraduate level was opened in University of Tehran on 19 December, 2015.

In an official ceremony in the presence of Chinese Ambassador to Tehran, President of University of Tehran and other officials, the Chinese Language and Literature program was opened.

In this event, Prof. Nili Ahamadabadi, the President of University of Tehran stated, “The history of Iran and China shows friendship and cooperation with no conflict and this indicates a long standing bilateral friendship between the two ancient civilizations”. He further added, “World trade in a sense was started by Silk Road and it is nostalgia of the past and a model for cooperation”.

Mr. Pang Sen, the Chinese ambassador also stated, “It is an important event. The two countries have had a great cooperation in commercial sector and this should be extended to cultural areas as well”.

It is worth mentioning that Chinese language education has been started at UT with the establishment of Confucius Institute in 2009 and in current year has received forty one students.
