German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier at University of Tehran
German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier along with a high ranking delegation and senior managers of DAAD visited University of Tehran on 18 October, 2015. The event was held in cooperation with DAAD-Alumni and University of Tehran in the presence of professors and students at Central Library and Documentation Center.
The program officially was opened by Prof. Ghahramani, Vice President of International Affairs, University of Tehran and Prof. Dr. Margret Wintermantel, President of DAAD at 9:00 a.m. After that three workshops were formed on topics of: Higher Education, Culture/Creative Industries and Sustainable Economic Development. At 10:30, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier arrived at UT and had a short meeting with Prof. Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi, President of University of Tehran and then attended Allameh Amini Hall at Central Library and Documentation Center. He presented a short lecture and attended a panel discussion on Education for Sustainable Development and Stability.
At the end of the event, he was awarded the logo of UT and a handicraft present by President Nili Ahmadabadi. It is worth mentioning that University of Tehran has a long established cooperation with many universities and research foundations in Germany and the visit of the Foreign Minister is evaluated to reinforce mutual collaboration.
