Call for Contribution 

Competition for participation of academic staff of University of Tehran in the 2022 program to support joint projects of St Petersburg University and the University of Tehran

The competition is held in accordance with the Agreement on the Support Program for Joint Research Projects between St Petersburg University and the University of Tehran. Academic staff of the University of Tehran are allowed to participate in the Competition.  The project leader from St Petersburg Uni. must hold the position of faculty member at that university.

Only applications for support of the establishment and implementation of the initial stages of cooperation are allowed to participate in the Competition. Moreover, the, applications for support of already established cooperation and previously implemented projects are not allowed to participate in the Competition.

According to the results of the Competition, funding is provided for the implementation of joint research projects with each university. The maximum amount of funding allocated for the implementation of one project should not exceed 5,000 US dollars in total. 

 Terms and stages of the competition

 Preparation and submission of applications

The procedure for completing and submitting an application includes the following:

• Finding a partner academic colleague from each universities and receiving collaboration letter
• Detailed project plan (no more than 4 pages) in English; 3.2.2. cost estimates for the project (in Farsi and English) with a breakdown of costs for the costs of UT and the costs of the ST Petersburg
• A list of project participants from St Petersburg University and the University of Tehran with detailed information about the project leaders on both sides;
• In the case of a proposed visit by a UT employee to the St Petersburg University or vice versa within the framework of the project, an electronic copy of the letter of invitation from the host scientist by the St Petersburg on the letterhead of the host organization, indicating the dates and purpose of the visit, with the signature and indication of the position and contact information of the host scientist;
• If the letter of invitation is provided in Russian, a file with a translation of the letter of invitation into Farsi or English is needed. 
•  The application must contain a brief description of the planned/possible results of intellectual activity that may arise during the trip.
• Due to Pandemic, the collaboration can be done virtually, so there will be no trip to partner universities.

Reporting

Each winner of the Competition is obliged to submit a detailed report on the results of the project implementation within one month after the end of the project

Also, each winner of the Competition is obliged to provide a report on the fulfillment of the stated publication obligations, as well as obligations to seek funding for the further implementation of the project.

Obligations of the winners of the competition

Each winner of the competitive selection undertakes to send at least 1 joint application with partners from the University of Tehran for grant support within 2 years after the completion of the project; publish at least 1 publication in journals of the 1st or 2nd quartile according to the SJR citation index (Scopus system) or JCR impact factor (Web of Science system) within a year after the completion of the project. Publications must contain an indication of the affiliation of the scientific and pedagogical worker with University of Tehran.
