Signing the Memorandum of Understanding between the UT Asian Research Center and the Asiatic Society for Social Science Research, New Delhi in India

Yesterday, during an official ceremony held in cyberspace due corona pandemic, a Memorandum of Understanding for research and scientific cooperation was signed between the Asian Research Center of the University of Tehran and the Asiatic Association for Social Science Research in India.

At the beginning of the program, Dr. Seyed Mohammad Marandi, Vice President for International Affairs, University of Tehran, in a speech referring to the vast capacities of Iran and India to implement joint research programs in various fields, expressed hope that the signing of this memorandum will expand research interactions at the University of Tehran with scientific centers of India.

Dr. Marandi also mentioned the unique cultural commonalities of Iranians and Indians throughout history and stressed the need for mutual knowledge of eastern cultures, and spoke of the University of Tehran's readiness to deepen scientific relations with its Indian counterparts.

In another part of the program, Ms. Ishani Sinha, Head of the International Section of the Asiatic Society for Social Sciences Research in India, while referring to the capacities of cultural cooperation between Iran and India, expressed satisfaction with the signing of this memorandum with the UT Asian Research Center.

Dr. Ashu, President of the Asiatic Society for Social Science Research in India, said that Iran and India, as two ancient Asian civilizations, have great potential for scientific and cultural references, and expressed hope that the signing of this memorandum will expand the interaction of Indian research centers with university of Tehran.

Abdolmajid Eskandari, Director General, Office of International Relations, University of Tehran, also mentioned the long history of friendship between the two nations of Iran and India, and pointed out some cultural attractions for Iranians and said: "Undoubtedly, the signing of the recent memorandum with the University of Tehran Asian Research Center, will deepen its research interactions with India.

After the speeches of the guests of the program, the text of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Asian Research Center of the University of Tehran and the Asiatic Society for Social Sciences of India was signed by Dr. Hamed Vafaei, Director of the Asian Research Center of the University of Tehran and Dr. Asho, Director of the Asiatic Society for Social Science Research of India.
