Adam D.Dubin , Professor of Human Rights Law, University of Pontificia Comillas(Madrid) presented an online lecture on “ The Right to Privacy: The Discriminatory Use of Stop and Frisk by Police on Minority Communities in the United States and Europe" at the Institute of Comparative Law , Faculty of Law and Political Science.

Prof. Dubin is part of the full-time faculty at Universidad Pontificia Comillas. Prior to coming to Spain, Dr. Dubin was a legal fellow in the United Nations Office of the Co-Prosecutors at the Cambodian tribunal and also worked in other countries such as India and The Gambia on human rights issues. He publishes and speaks around the globe on topics related to access to justice and human rights in developing countries, particularly in the Sub-Saharan African region. Dr. Dubin is the co-author of Gender, Poverty and Access to Justice: Policy Implementation in Sub-Saharan Africa, published in 2019 by Routledge.He is now Assitance professor and Director of Masters in international and European Business law at University of Pontificia Comillas.

The meeting was held on Monday, April 19, 2021. In this meeting, prof.Dubin First, proposed the legal basis for the right to privacy in the prohibition of inspection, and in this regard, he analyzed the provisions of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, and etc., and then discussed the basic US regulations in this field. He then examined the position of this right in the judicial system of these areas by examining the decisions of the United States Supreme Court and European courts.
