The Second International Conference on Peace and Conflict Resolution
The second International Conference on Peace and Conflict Resolution was held at the Faculty of World Studies, University of Tehran, on two days, Monday and Tuesday, November 23 and 24, 2020.
The "A Septuple Charter for Peace and Coexistence in the Future World" was the title given by Dr. Seyed Kazem Alavipanah, a distinguished international professor and researcher at the University of Tehran and the fourth opening speaker at the Second International Conference on Peace and Conflict Resolution.
This joint study by Dr. Alavipanah and Dr. Ali Akbar Mousavi Movahedi, another international professor and leading researcher at the University of Tehran, focused on the importance of peace and conflict resolution.
According to these leading researchers, conflict requires equipment, weapons, technology, and the like. Peace, on the other hand, requires self-awareness, inner voice, happiness, learning and spirituality, and a proper understanding of the effectiveness of power.
Dr.Alavipanah, pointing out that human beings today are witnessing vast tangible and intangible changes and are unaware of the consequences, addressed the root of these problems and named them as profiteering, self-interest, self-improvement, organization or country And quoting Iqbal Lahori, he added: Spread peace all over the globe, and send a message of peace to all those warmongers and warriors (Muhammad Iqbal)
This prominent international scholar referred to the Cyrus Charter, the first human rights charter, which was translated into six languages by the United Nations in 1971, and a copy of which was installed at the United Nations in New York.
Dr. Alavipanah called Iran the cradle of civilization, culture and art and mentioned the famous and numerous poets of this region who have been writing poetry since 1200 years ago; Poems that are full of human wisdom. In reciting the famous poem of Saadi Shirazi, he mentioned the crisis of Covid 19, how it has affected the life of mankind.
Human beings are members of a whole
In creation of one essence and soul
If one member is afflicted with pain
Other members uneasy will remain
If you’ve no sympathy for human pain
The name of human you cannot retain
(SaadiShirazi)
Dr. Alavipanah considered the root of all human problems in one thing. He criticized the negligence of the government in finding the root of the problems and finding the causes of the problems and focusing only on gaining material benefits, stating that the problems of human societies have not been solved, and even if they are solved, other double problems have arisen.
He mentioned principles that will not need to address secondary issues. Dr. Alavipanah considered the solution in only one thing: dealing with ancient Persian poetry and literature, which has been addressed by more than tens of thousands of poets and millions of poems in previous millennia. Sages and philosophers have always used these poems with deep and effective themes in expressing the meanings.
According to this prominent scholar who delivered his speech in English, Iranian poets emphasize the special position of man. It is true that it is necessary to pay attention to historical research and study the conditions of the time, but Persian literature and Iranian poets have been a treasure trove of experiences of their time. He also spoke about the importance of human coexistence with nature, that nothing is superior to another. With such a model, man's view of nature and man's action against nature must change. He considered equality as an existential value in the life of all beings, which on a theoretical and practical level affects the thoughts and behavior of human beings in interaction with nature.
The conclusion of Dr. Alavipanah’s speech was the broadcast of the voice of the master of Iranian singing, Shajarian.
