Legendary Iranian singer Shajarian passes away

Iranian classical singer Mohammad-Reza Shajarian passed away at the age of 80 at Tehran's Jam hospital on 8 October, 2020.

Shajarian was the undisputed master of Persian traditional and classical singing and is considered as a national treasure by both musicians and music lovers. He was perhaps Iran's most prolific singer of all time and has a great number of recorded works.

Prof. Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi, President of University of Tehran, Board of Directors of University of Tehran and College of Fine Artts ( where he used to teach music in the past) sent a message of condolence to his family, his friends and followers throughout the world.
