The Centre for Continuing Education Studies at LUMS would like to introduce a 10-week online course, "Beginning Urdu", which is designed for learners without any knowledge of the Urdu language and culture. The course will be taught in English and the goal of this course is to provide individuals with the fundamentals of Urdu grammar and help them flourish in all four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) using a curriculum designed by our acclaimed instructor experienced in teaching foreign students. This course aims to strengthen and explore the South Asian culture and enable students to confidently navigate through social situations in Pakistan.
Dr. Faiza Saleem has an extensive and diverse experience of teaching Urdu as a foreign language at both graduate and post-graduate levels. She has taught in the Berkeley Urdu Language Program in Pakistan, at the University of Virginia, and at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's South Asia Summer Language Institute.
