Afghanistan Ambassador to I. R. of Iran visits University of Tehran
On January 11, 2020, Dr. Abdolghafour Lival the ambassador of Afghanistan visited university of Tehran and met with Prof. Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi, President of the University of Tehran. In the begining of the meeting, after initial welcome remarks, both sides expressed their deep condolence on the occasion of the recent airplane tragic incident.
In this meeting the ambassador of Afghanistan talked about the common similarities between the two countries and stated that his main purpose of meeting is to become further familiar with the University of Tehran and its scope of academic and research activities as a leading university in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He also exchanged ideas on the cost and tuition fees of studies at UT, scholarship for top rank Afghan students, the quality of language tests and TOEFL for PhD students and possibility of the establishment Pashto chair in UT.
The UT president also spoke about the necessity of mutual cooperation between UT and Afghan universities and higher education institutions. He also added some comments on the establishment of dual degree, sharing managerial experiences on universities administration and curriculum, exchange of faculty members and students and conducting joint e research programs between University of Tehran and top universities in Afghanistan.
Prof. Nili Ahmadabadi also invited The Afghanistan Ambassador and Cultural Attaché to attend the meetings of academic working group of Afghanistan in the future.
At the end of the meeting, giving the academic background of the ambassador of Afghanistan, a two-volume Dehkhoda encyclopedia was awarded to him by UT President.
