President of Beijing International Studies University (BISU) meets with President of University of Tehran (UT)
On the 10th of December 2019, Prof. Ji Jinbiao, President of Beijing International Studies University and accompanying delegation attended University of Tehran and met Prof. Nili Ahmadabadi, the President of University of Tehran.
Introducing the University of Tehran and its affiliated campuses and institutions, President Nili Ahmadabadi emphasized on internationalization as one of the triple strategic goals of the UT Five Year Plan and further added that UT is interested in expanding educational and research cooperation with Chinese Universities and China as one of the strategic countries in international cooperation.
Prof. Ji Jinbiao, the BISU President also expressed his interest in developing short-term and long-term cooperation with UT within the framework of exchanging professors and students, sabbatical leaves and dual degrees, especially in the field of foreign languages and tourism.
At the end of the meeting, it was decided to explore the possibility of holding joint workshops on tourism and the ways of attracting Chinese and Iranian tourists in association with Kish International Campus of University of Tehran and other faculties.
Given that the presence of a group of BISU students at the International Center for Persian Studies at Tehran has been evaluated as a very successful experience, it was decided that the University of Tehran consider accepting another group of BISU students next year.
It was also agreed to work jointly on holding international conferences, Chinese and Persian language training programs, and cooperate in other areas of interest in particular in the pogroms related to the Belt and Road Initiative.
