AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The second webinar, “The Abrahamic Hajj in the Holy Quran” was held upon the initiative of the Center for Higher Studies of Islamic Revolution at the University of Tehran, in collaboration with the Leader’s Hajj Mission, Astan Quds Razavi Cultural Organization and the Islamic Research Foundation.

The webinar was held at the AQR Islamic Research Foundation, with senior scholars and officials from the organizing executive bodies and universities in attendance.

Addressing attendants, Hoj. Baqeri, the former cultural attaché of Iran in Tanzania, expounded on the concept of the Abrahamic Hajj, explained the effects of the hajj and called it one of the religious rituals and duties for Muslims which has a great influence on the spiritual perfection and purification of individuals.

“Hajj is a religious journey towards God and as stated in the Holy Quran, Hajj is the result of people’s uprising for the right,” he said.

"Hajj means paying attention to Sharia and religion and performing a particular worship service," he stated, adding "It is not about gender, race or ethnicity, but about the duties and responsibilities the Muslims are trusted with and it is mandatory for those who afford financially and physically.

He went on by interpreting verse 96 of Surah Al-e-Imran which says, “Indeed, the first House [of worship] established for mankind was that at Mecca—blessed and a guidance for the worlds.”

“Kaaba is a place of worship for as long as the world exists. God Almighty made this place safe, so that there would be no quarreling and only a place to fight the Satan,” he remarked.

At the end, he stressed that the pilgrims should worship the Kaaba and be careful to understand the concept of Hajj and its benefits.
