An Italian Professor at University of Tehran

Prof. NICOLA MELIS, a researcher and  an adjunct professor at the Department of Political and Social sciences of the University of Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy paid a visit to University of Tehran within the framework of Erasmus+ exchange program .

Prof. Melis has a Phd degree in Ottoman History by the former Faculty of Political Sciences of the same University, with a thesis on the Luso-Ottoman relations. He is currently conducting various investigations into Ottoman Africa and the Red sea during the Ottoman era, and the results have been presented in various congresses and international journals.

During his visit to University of Tehran , he had several  professional meetings with the faculty members of the Faculty of Literature and Humanities in particular the Department of History and exchanged ideas  with Prof. Goodarz Rashtiani, Prof. Ali Kalirad, Prof. Shahram Yousefi, Prof. Hassan Hazrati and Prof. Faajolah Ahmadi.

Prof. Melis also visited International Book Exhibition and paid a short visit to Isfahan. During his stay in Iran , he also took part in a conference at UT.  UT and University of Cagliari have developed academic ties in recent years and it is expected that the scope of mutual activities between the two universities to be extended further.
