Message from the President of National Taiwan University

For the past 90 years, National Taiwan University (NTU) has attained impressive achievements in higher education and research under the leadership of past presidents and the collective efforts of all its members.

Our mission has always been to pursue excellence in higher education and research, together with a deep concern for social betterment. The university motto—Integrity, Diligence, Fidelity, and Compassion—has been the guiding principle behind all our endeavors. It is the responsibility of NTU to support students with an exceptional learning environment. As a Chinese saying goes, “It takes ten years to grow a tree but a hundred years to cultivate distinguished role models.” Hence we must give back to the society that has nurtured us, and act with gratitude and courage to create a better future for this world. It is essential for all faculty and students to strive to value the prestigious position we enjoy, transform our society with innovative ideas, broaden knowledge through research, and promote business and industry with creativity.

As we celebrate our 90th anniversary, we welcome all faculty members, students, alumni, parents, and visitors to join in our festivities for this momentous occasion.

Happy Birthday!
