German delegation from University of Cologne visits Faculty of World Studies, UT

On 9 October, 2018, a German delegation comprised of Prof. Stefan Boernchen,( German Language and Literature Department), Prof. Dr. Katajun Amirpur,(Oriental Studies Department) and Dr. Stefan Bildhauer, (Director, International Affairs) of University of Cologne paid a visit to the Faculty of World Studies and met with Prof. Ameli, the Dean of the Faculty of World Studies and other officials including Prof. Doustizadeh, Head of Department of German Studies, Prof. Arabahamadi, Advisor to the Dean on International Affairs, Prof. Javad Shaarbaf, Deputy Dean for Finance and Administration and Prof. Pourrostami, Deputy Dean  for Education and Research.

In this meeting both sides exchanged ideas on further academic ties including exchange of students and faculty members and holding academic seminars.

Explaining about the achievements of Faculty of World Studies graduates in various labor markets such as international media, tourism, embassies, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prof. Ameli talked about strategic plans of UT on internationalization and voiced the readiness of the Faculty of World Studies for the expansion of academic ties.

Dr. Amirpur also explained about the departments of Iranian and Islam studies and expressed the interest of her department to exchange students with the Faculty of Worlds Studies, UT.

Stating the interest of German to expand German culture and language in a systematic method and taking into consideration the globalization and scholarly talks, Prof. Dr. Boernchen also welcomed the idea of establishing and promoting academic cooperation with UT.

Given the MoU signed between the two universities and future agreements with the Faculty of World Studies, Dr. Stefan Bildhauer also put forth some ideas about potential areas of collaboration between the two universities.
