Message from the President: Welcome to the new academic year

The President of the University of Tehran has issued a message to the professors and students of the University of Tehran on the occasion of the beginning of the new academic year, the text of which is as follows:

In the Name of God

With the arrival of Mehr (September/October) and the beginning of a new academic year, once again the breeze of knowledge and wisdom flows through our universities, heralding renewed vigor on the path of personal growth and social progress. This is the season when universities come alive—a season filled with hope, passion, and joy, in which the academic community takes firm and determined steps toward the development and prosperity of our country.

The coming academic year begins under circumstances unlike previous years. Following the twelve-day imposed war, the temporary closure of universities, and the consequent postponement of examinations, we now face unique challenges. More than ever, these conditions call for solidarity, collaboration, and unity among the great family of the University of Tehran in order to overcome hardships and obstacles.

Today, our nation needs the active participation of its intellectuals and scholars more than ever before to confront crises and address complex issues. The University of Tehran, as the emblem of higher education in Iran, will—as always—draw upon the strength of its valuable human capital and, in keeping with its social responsibilities, mobilize all of its academic, research, and technological capacities to tackle both internal and broader societal challenges.

It is our hope to preserve the dignity of our academic community and to strengthen the scientific and technological infrastructure, thereby creating the conditions for their active and meaningful contributions to addressing challenges within the university and in the wider society.

On the occasion of the glorious Sacred Defense Week, I sincerely congratulate the beginning of the academic year and this new chapter in the calendar of education to all members of the university community, especially our dear students, faculty, and staff of the University of Tehran. I pray to Almighty God that all may continue to attain the highest levels of knowledge and virtue, together with prosperity, happiness, and well-being.

May our collective determination and effort create a vibrant, dynamic, and lively academic environment and inscribe yet another golden page in the history of this mother university.
