Czech Chargé d'Affaires meets Vice President for International Relations, University of Tehran

Mr Petr Stepanek, The Chargé d'Affaires of the Czech embassy in Tehran on the 3 ^rd of February, 2016 met with Prof. Mohamamd Bagher Ghahramani, Vice President for International Affairs, University of Tehran. In this meeting which was held with the participation of Abdolmajid Eskandari, Director General, Office of International Relations both sides exchanged ideas on promoting bilateral academic ties between University of Tehran and Czech universities in particular Charles University.

During the meeting, Prof. Ghahramani evaluated the previous visit of high delegation comprised of the Head of the Senate's Foreign and Security Policy Committee of the Republic of Czech and accompanying delegation along with Charge d Affair of Czech Republic to the Faculty of Literature and Humanities, University of Tehran 30 September, 2015 in a ceremony to designate a part of the faculty library to the works of Prof. Dr. Jan Rypka, the famous Iranologist as an important event and expressed his hope for holding similar events.

In this meeting, also referring to long established tradition of education in Czech republic, marvelous glass works by Czech artists, professional puppets and artistic products of that country, Abdolmajid Eskandari expressed hope for further cooperation between Charles university and in particular College of Fine Arts in addition to the other faculties.

According to the decision of both sides, in the near future the high ranking delegation from Charles University will pay a visit to University of Tehran and will sign a MoU which will serve as a base for further cooperation.
