80th Anniversary of the University of Tehran Ratification Law
In a formal ceremony beginning with the recitation of holy Qur'an and live performance of National Anthem of I.R. of Iran on the 2nd of March, 2015, University of Tehran and Tehran University of Medical Sciences celebrated the 80th Anniversary of Establishment Law. This ceremony was held in the presence of Minister of Science, Research and Technology, Minister of Health and Medical Education, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Minister of Road and Urban Planning, Minister of Sports and Youth, Islamic Consultative Assembly Deputy Speaker, Head of Central Bank, Vice President for Legal Affairs, Head of Persian Language and Literature Academy, Representative of Supreme Leader at University of Tehran, the presidents of University of Tehran and Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and a great number of professors and students.
There were also outstanding foreign presidents present in the event from different universities including Baku State University (Azerbaijan), Khazar University (Azerbaijan), Kufah University (Iraq), Basrah University (Iraq), Karbala University (Iraq), University of Reading (UK), Yunnan University (China), and a noticeable number of ambassadors and cultural attaché from various countries such as Czech Republic, Indonesia, Malaysia, Italy, Venezuela, The Netherlands, Germany, Iraq,....
Before the main event, the university officials, ministers, professors and students paid their tribute to the unknown martyrs of University. Then , there was an unveiling ceremony for the silver logo on the occasion of the 80th anniversary, the national stamp (from Jondishapour to University of Tehran) and also the banknote (50,000 Rials) in which the image of the UT gate was engraved.
In this meeting, Prof. Khezri, Advisor to the President and Director General of Public Relations at UT, Prof. Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi, the President of UT, Prof. Mehdi Mohaghegh one of the everlasting UT figure, Prof. Ali Jafarian, the President of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Prof. Farhadi, the Minister of Science, Research and Technology, Prof. Ali Taiebnia, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, Dr. Hassan Ghazizadeh Hashemi, the Minister of Health and Medical Education presented their speeches. Moreover, Prof. Abel Maharamov, the President of Baku State University, Prof. Hamlet Isaxanli, Founder of Khazar University from Republic of Azerbaijan, Prof. Roger Mathew from University of Reading also presented a speech. In the ceremony, the Deputy Chancellor of Karbala University and Head of Center for Researches of Imam Hussein (a.s.) Astan granted the red flag of Imam Hussein (a.s.) shrine to University of Tehran.
It is worth noting, that some professors and students of College of Fine Arts performed live music in this event. University of Tehran received many congratulatory messages from the presidents of foreign universities and former students of UT which are posted at the English website.
