Ambassador of Iraq meets with President of University of Tehran

Iraqi Ambassador to Tehran , Mr. Nasir Abdul Mohsen Abdullah accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Amjad Al- Mudhafer , The Iraqi Cultural Attaché met with Prof. Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi, President of University of Tehran on the 2nd of February, 2021.

In this meeting President of UT expressed the readiness of UT to share the facilities, since UT focuses not only on education and research of students but also on social, cultural and technological domains.

Referring to the reputation of UT, Iraqi ambassador expressed his wishes to increase the number of Iraqi students and added the cultural and social links with Iran is very important for us. The Iraqi graduates of UT transfer the UT culture and encourage other students to study here.

Expressing his congratulations on the occasion of Iranian Islamic Revolution anniversary, Assistant Prof. Dr. Amjad Al-Mudafer also stated that as the blessings of the Islamic Revolution, about 8000 Iraqi students are studying in Iranian universities.

In the continuation of exchanges of ideas, President of UT explained about the national function of UT in expanding branches and the fact that all affiliated units enjoy the same standard as the main campus.

He further suggested that we can use the virtual education infrastructure of UT to have more Iraqi students at UT. The Iraqi experts can also join the Science and Technology Park of UT and work with their colleagues. UT is also ready to open a branch in Iraq. UT is your house and the cordial relations should show itself in all aspects. We consider you as the family of UT. 

In this meeting, UT President also invited the Iraqi ambassador and cultural attaché to visit UT and its affiliated campuses in the near future.

Prof. Sarrafzadeh , Vice President for International Affairs in this meeting said that we can collaborate in various fields such as sabbatical leave and research stay, international mobility within the framework of programs like Erasmus plus and other projects. Moreover, Prof. Rezaei , Dean of College of Farabi, at UT expressed the interest of his college to have further collaboration with Iraqi universities.

At the end of the meeting, some gifts were presented to Iraqi guests as a memory of their visit to UT.
