University of Tehran Ranks in Top 800 for Nine Subjects in Global Rankings

According to the 2021 Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject, University of Tehran is ranked in nine academic subjects.

In the subject of Engineering and Technology, University of Tehran showed its best score and is ranked 201-250 in the world.

University of Tehran also recorded strong results in: Arts and Humanities: 301–400 Business and Economics: 251–300 Computer Science: 301–400 Education: 401–500 Engineering and Technology: 201–250 Life Sciences: 601–800 Physical Sciences: 601–800 Psychology: 401–500 Social Sciences: 401–500

Altogether, 1512 universities participated in the rankings, qualifying in at least one subject. The subject rankings are compiled in the 11 categories, including Arts and Humanities, Business and Economics, Clinical and Health, Computer science, Education, Engineering, Law, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Psychology, and Social Sciences.

Universities are assessed on 13 key performance indicators across five broad categories - teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income. Two of the indicators that have considerable weight are based on surveys of the reputation of teaching and research, completed by a significant sample of experts in the academic field.
