Dear President Prof. Mahmoud Nili Ahmad Abadi:

The COVID-19 has been evolving and developing very fast globally. On behalf of Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), we would like to extend our warmest wishes and steady support to you, our close partner.

Our hearts and thoughts are with you at this difficult time. We hope everything is fine for you, and your students, faculty and staff are doing well.

Based on our own experiences in fighting COVID-19 in the past two months, we understand how challenging it is for you to manage the severe situation now in your country. As university leaders, we know how much meticulous effort and synergistic teamwork is needed to protect the safety and maintain the wellbeing of all members of your university. Though the epidemic control in China is yielding positive results, we are still closely monitoring the situation and hoping for a rapid improvement world-wide.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, our faculty and students have been actively involved in the antivirus campaign. Taking advantage of their academic strengths, some of them have been offering translation and interpretation services; others joined the community work as volunteers. And many other SISU scholars have been doing research and sharing information on COVID-19 prevention and control in China and other countries or regions in the world. It is our firm belief that by working closely together we will successfully conquer the pandemic soon.

We hope the global situation will improve and people’s lives will return to normal in the near future. We value our partnership, and look forward to working closely with you to bring our fruitful collaboration to a new height after the epidemic crisis is over. If we could be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to let us know.
