The Contemporary Iranian Studies Conference held at UT Faculty of World Studies
The Contemporary Iranian Studies Conference was held at the Faculty of World Studies on 10-11 November, 2019 as a venue for academics, scholars, experts and students from around the world to exchange knowledge, ideas, and experiences related to contemporary Iran. The conference theme was Iranian Studies in contemporary era and aimed to investigate new approaches and methods to this field of study.
Panels related to all major fields of Iranian studies in four general categories of politics, sociology, culture and economics were also part of the program. The themes included but were not limited to contemporary history, sociology, political science, religions and theology, art, international relations, new media and communication studies, and Diaspora studies. Interdisciplinary approaches and comparative studies were also presented in the programs.
The conference took place in the Faculty of World Studies, University of Tehran as one of the dynamic faculties in various fields of studies to provide an ideal opportunity for all Iranian Studies scholars to establish network and exchange ideas to gain first-hand knowledge of Iran’s rich culture and civilization including history, customs, tradition, religion, language and everyday life.
