Russian Studies Journal Gains Prestigious Scopus Indexing

TEHRAN –The Research Journal of Russian Language and Literature (Issledovatel'skiy Zhurnal Russkogo Yazyka i Literatury) has been formally indexed in the Scopus database, a global repository of peer-reviewed research. This inclusion marks a significant advancement for Iranian humanities scholarship within the international academic field.

Published since 2013, the journal has functioned as a critical venue for original research in Russian philology. Its scope spans Russian and comparative literature, general and contrastive linguistics, language pedagogy, and the sociological, psychological, and translational dimensions of Russian language studies.

The indexing confirms that the journal satisfies Scopus’s standards of editorial rigor, methodological consistency, and sustained academic contribution. As a result, research published in the journal will gain expanded international accessibility and citation visibility.

“This achievement is a testament to years of dedicated work by our entire academic community,” said Prof. Marzieh Yahyapour, the journal’s Editor-in-Chief. A Professor of Russian Literature and head of the Russkiy Mir Center at the University of Tehran, Prof. Yahyapour has been awarded the Pushkin Medal by the Russian Federation for her contributions to the promotion of Russian language and culture.

Prof. Janolah Karimi-Motahhar, Professor of Russian Literature and Managing Editor of the journal, added: “Scopus indexing validates our commitment to scholarly excellence and provides a powerful platform to share Iranian and international scholarship in Russian studies with a worldwide audience.”

The indexing is regarded as a collective achievement of the editorial board, peer reviewers, and contributing authors. It highlights the University of Tehran’s continuing role in advancing specialized research in the humanities and in fostering sustained academic dialogue across borders.

The Research Journal of Russian Language and Literature is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal. It remains committed to the publication and dissemination of research in Russian language, linguistics, and literature.
